The Odyssey Blog.................................................................................................

The Odyssey is an epic written by Homer about Odysseus, and the Trojan war. The war was basically over, but Odysseus couldn't get home because he was imprisoned by the nymph Calypso. Odysseus was also very prideful, and he didn't really listen to anyone else. I think the Greeks' message was that you shouldn't be so prideful, and sometimes you are not always right. Odysseus also didn't treat his sailors fairly, so they are probably also trying to get the point across that you should treat people fairly.

In the book the author uses imagery all the time to talk about his surroundings, and to describe how everything looks. It says the cyclops cave was really big and filled with cheeses and meat and sheep. The book also uses symbolism and similes and metaphors.
